Expanded newborn screening for metabolic and other inherited disorders at birth. One in 2,500 babies born is affected by an inherited disorder that can be detected  through newborn screening. Diagnosis within the first days of life is essential because many of these disorders are manageable if treatment begins early.

Furthermore offers second tier tests for the confirmation of possible detected diseases (false positives).
